Doping Control at World Championship, Game 8

So no one really knows what Anand and Carlsen were told during this 20 minute delay? During the press conference, the woman who sits at the table with them asks the players what they think about this doping thing for chess players, and Anand blew her off, saying now is not the time to discuss it, or something like that.
I don't know why performance enhancer type drugs aren't allowed unless you need them. If you needed them though, and were on them, would you still be restricted from participating if you failed the Doping control test and they found it in your system? To clarify, by need I mean that you're prescribed them for help in focusing and that they help compensate for unordinary lack of concentration, hence being the reason why you're taking them.
Anything can be tested now. In about 2005 I used to play croquet tournaments. The referee said "my duty is to inform you lal that under the drug codes for sports I can ask you to be tested at any time".
Honestly. Tested for doing this:

Probably testing for Cortexiphan. An official may have noticed one of the players moving a piece without touching it and deduced he was part of William Bells experiments in the 70's :)

I believe that FIDE implemented updated Anti-Doping rules on the 1st July 2010. These were accepted by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). These guidlelines can be found here if interested;

Nowadays if you go to a chess tournament you have to make sure and wear clean underwear because you don't know when you will be searched. Als you may want to work out before going to a tournament to be sure you'll be looking good if they tell you to take it all off for a cavity search.

i would just withdraw from the tournament if that ever really happened.

Why test them? If you took the wacky weed you would see the board like this:
I would need some wacky weed to finish watching that painful video. Fortunately, I'll be able to buy it legally real soon.

I guess there is no real reason why there is only handfull of marathon runners with pr under 2:20 apart of silly anti-doping rules.

Isn't it already legal in our rogue state or are they still hashing out - pun intended - the details?

I read somewhere that FIDE has started to require drug testing with the hope that one day chess will be added to the Olympics. A good question would be which Olympics would chess be in, Winter or Summer? :-)

I think they cancelled those plans due to concerns of not being able to handle the expected spectator crowds ..

Oh my. This is very real. Did Magnus and Anand need to provide samples before and during the world chess championship? It would be the fair thing to do, if in fact a chess player can cheat by taking a brain boosting drug. I have no idea if there are any drugs that make your brain function better, but I know that many prescription drugs screw up cognition.
According to the FIDE doping rules, a maximum of ten male players ( ELO 2650 and above) and the current male world champion are part of the registered testing pool, as are a maximum of five female players (ELO 2450 and above), as well as the current female world champion, and the winners of the World Cup, and any other player participating in an International Event.
Anand and Carlsen were delayed from the press conference for 20 minutes due to doping control. What is this, a drug test? Are there performance enhancing drugs for chess?
