Double Weighted, huh?

I want to make my own chess board and would need to buy the pieces separately. I'm wondering, what does it mean by single-weighted, double-weighted, and triple-weighted?

Single-weighted means the pieces don't have added weights, double-weighted do, and triple-wieghted have more wieght added.

 

There are no standards across manufacturers so you would just need to compare sets by total weight to see how they might differ.
