Suppose there was no time limit and you don't have enough material to mate, what would you do? Play on forever?
draw by insufficient material?

It's not your opponents fault that you can't force a checkmate either- your awarded the best result by position when you opponent runs out of time. If by position you can't checkmate then you're awarded a draw, the best result you could achieve in that position. Fair enough.

This isn't something they should "fix." It's part of the actual rules of chess.
Also, picture this. If you were in a gunfight, but you had no bullets, although you were in a winning position to finish him off, that doesn't mean you win.
In a fight like so, you would actually lose, as your opponent has the weapons to defeat you.
What abt people like youwho dont make a move in a losing position..Why should winner be allowed to wait the full time...Any replies loser!! hahaha

chess is perfect. nothing remains to fix. once everyone understands the game thoroughly, the world, too, will be perfect.

Wrong topic sweetie. Reading comprehension is good.

I'm willing to believe that everyone who complains about draws by insufficient material, opponents letting the time run out, and trash talk are all the same person.
Why does the game draw when your opponent runs out of time but you don't have enough material to win? Is it my fault they can't finish in the designated time frame? That's why I play blitz. Fix this.
