Draw offer etiquette?

I have just read an article discussing the etiquette around draw offers.

What are some guidelines regarding draw offers?

I am happy to consider discussion concerning either offering/responding or OTB/online, so any contribution is welcome!

Note: I am not so much referring to the rules around draws (such as making your move and offering before pressing the clock (OTB) or the fact that making a move will decline a draw offer etc.) more the accepted manner (if any) of offering and considering draws.

Thank you

One personal rule I have is that if my opponent has rejected a draw offer it is up to them to make the next draw offer (providing the game continues in a drawish manner).

There’s not too much etiquette, just don’t offer repeated draws, or offers when ur completely losing (large material down with little compensation)

I understand that draws should only be offered when the position is likely to be drawn and the like, but this article goes into considering the differences between spoken and silent responses to an offer and what they indicate.

Does this matter much?

In unrated OTB games, I always accept draws when offered.  It is the polite thing to do.

Hmmm, if that's what you do that's fair enough. I guess if there is an unclear position, or if both players feel like they have had enough of that game. If it was me I might, unless it is a clear win/loss.

"this article goes into considering the differences between spoken and silent responses to an offer and what they indicate"     some people try to be intimidating.    Playing at a club level ( "friendly games" as opposed to tournaments), I have seen people respond to Draw offers by slamming their move down.   Some yell out "hell no".   and one guy smugly said "draws are for babies ! "

when I played in tournaments, the rule was once you offered a Draw and it was rejected, you could not offer a Draw again, until your opponent offered you a Draw.    Otherwise people could annoyingly offer you a Draw after every time they moved.

I sometimes offer draw when I think it is clear that the game is drawn, like: 8/1p5p/pB4pP/PkbK2P1/8/8/8/8. I can just, as white, move my bishop to c6 then to b5 then to c6 and so on.

and so on. The FEN I posted was wrong

I can't tell you how many "clearly losing" draws I've been offered.

It's not a draw. White can win.

Pro tip:

If your opponent asks "Are you playing for a win?" ... which hints that you have no such option... the most accurate reply is "Just playing."
