Uscf recommends   if either player knocks over his clock his opponent gets one minute added to clock and Fide is descretionary penalty based on article 6 which says handle the clock properly and also if it falls totally off the table the impact may or may not change the clock hands. Old analog clocks sometimes will have the hands move when banged or knocked, So the arbiter will, if asked try to do

 something that seems fair.

Once we were young, there were a lot of analog clocks . When opponent time was very critical on flag , people intentionally beat clocks so that opponent flag drop.
