Chess is a drug, I even have to play it in the toilet on my smart phone and I even dream chess, so take another drug at the same time as playing would be dangerous for your health except alcohol which is not a drug but a most.  Sealed

so youre saying that if we take rohypnol we can control time itself...hmm... interesting

jpd303

guys no matter how fun it sounds NEVER EVER EVER play chess on LSD, mescaline, psilocybin, pot or any other hallucinogenic drug if you want to play good...no really DRUGS are bad and ARE not any FUN...no you cannot control time on rohypnol, ive tried...but you can bend time/space on shrooms and talk to the universal onebeing thereby allowing you transdimensionally communicate to other multiuniversinal images of you  that could play chess in a parrallel existance better than you do in this one...i dont suggest it though, its hard on your couch...

I nearly always smoke dope and play chess.I might as well as both give me pleasure and i,ve found that i play no better when im sober anyway.

buster47

I can't play when sober I start seeing pink elephants floating and snakes starts crawling around and even out of my computer, most be the smell of the alcohol who keeps them away.

when i was in highschool i was obsessed with human enhancing drugs too.

drugs may be used as tools to propel your level of consciousnous. the key i believe is to retain that level of clarity with out the drugs. i admire your curiosity. good huntings

We all are addicted to something....if it isn't illegal like streetdrugs, than it's alcohol, work, sports, eating, smoking....you name it...

I am against banning drugs in any sports at all... But you personally have to take the consequences after....

jpd303

if they ban coffee from chess ill go on a hunger strike!  thats just mean!  nicoteine could be misconstrued as preformance enhancing chemical because it relaxes the smoker who could then concentrate on the game more cause theyre not focused on smoking...thus when you saw spassky, tal, samisch, burn ect smoking THEY were enhancing thier board preformance!  anyway they shouldnt ban ANYdrug from chess...its not FIDE's responsibility to tell what their players can injest..."its not a war on drugs its a war on personal freedoms"-Bill hicks

If chess is not a sport then there is nothing to worry about if you take drugs to improve your chess (except minor side effects like cancer and brain tumurs!).

Metalhead65

Prescription drugs too?  Improving cardiac efficiency would improve board performance because of getting enough oxygen.  Would that be an unfair advantage? (Just kidding)
