ECF grades.

Hi folks,

does anyone who plays on here have an ECF grade? If so, what is it? (I'd only like to know the old ECF grade and not the new estimates after inflation). Just so I can get an idea of what strength OTB players have what ratings. I'm new to this website that's all and I'm not yet sure what rating I should be aiming for, my current rating is 1758 and I have a grade of 94.

Thanks, Tony.

Well I've just finished my first OTB season (I only played about a third of the matches in the season), and my record was +4 -1 =1 against players roughly in the range of 90-125. I haven't been given a grade yet, so I'm not sure what is.

My rating here is 1950 at the moment.

You probably won't receive a grade this season then because you need to play at least 9 games usually. I think my rating on here will be about that in the end, nearly 1800 now.

Tony,

My current estimate grade is around 120 - used in this season's handicap tournament (UG at the start of the season). Since your grade is about the same as mine, and if my chess.com grade is an equivalent, then we both should be around 1900 to 2100.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you find it different (from any replies you may get).

Cheers

With the ECF categorie (A-E), is A good, or is it E?

gumpty

neither...the A-E is an indicator of how many game thats seasons rating is based on. An A is the most games, an E is about 10+ then all inbetween etc :-)
