Editing a chess game

Hi all,

So I fealt like making myself a chess variation cause I'm bored and need a life. As this variation requires a slightly bigger board and 4 new peices (2 starting 2 earnable) I was wondering if anyone knew of a chess program that was easily manipulated and changed. I am computer literate but by no means a programmer and since its probably not going anywhere beyond a hobby I don't need anything fancy just something so I can see what the reality of playing the game would be like without physically making a custom made board and peices.

Anybody equally bored and interested in variations may feel free to comment, ask questions and give a hand where applicable, I have decided to call it Chess - Full Court Battle Royal

You can write a plugin for "zillions of games". That's the easiest way, but it will still require some programming.
