I think I can confidently assert this: An entity going by the name of Edward Winter has passed the Turing Test. To avoid idle speculation, let us conceive of this entity simply as a black box that regularly produces chess factoids. LOL

Bwahaha. I knew somebody was eventually going to post this picture. I almost did it myself. This is, indeed, Edward Winter. LOL
i like this person (might be his mysterious-ness and all-knowing
) and frequent his chess notes, it would be real nice to know who he is..

Winter offers plenty that is positive when chess historians are careful and document their claims properly. It is not a surprise that he does not have much that is positive to say about those who are careless and who perpetrate errors.
Read, for example, what he says about John Donaldson.
