Is the ELO rating of a player in Chess.com equivalent to the ELO in terms of FIDE?

If not, what is the difference and the equivalence?

yes, this is a widely held belief.

on the other hand, if you've played without computer assistance & you've done a statistically significant number of games I don't see why there Isn't a correlation- at least WITH OTB PLAY IN THE same time control.

on the other hand, between time controls?  I don't think there can be a good correlation.

Generally, chess.com gives a good representation of USCF rating. I think that FIDE is around 100 pts lower than a normal chess.com rating.
