Empate inusitado

Ontem joguei uma partida emocionante (ao menos pra mim e meus humildes 380 de rating),achei que ia perder por tempo ou abandono automático já que a internet havia caído e meu tempo estava curtíssimo.
Mais tarde,fui analisar a partida e ví que deu empate com a seguinte mensagem :
"Empate por Material insuficiente vs Tempo esgotado"
Por qual motivo isso aconteceu????

You ran out of time and can't win. You opponent only has a king and camd never mate given infinite time, so the best result they can get is a draw so that's the game result.
