If you want to eliminate 'in passing' you also have to eliminate double pawn moves.
I really hate this rule, and the more I play chess, the more I find it completely unnecessary and destructive to this game. It prevents the building of pawn structures, provoking quick exchanges, and greatly weakens chess tactically.
If chess.com doesn't play by the FIDE rules, then why aren't we able to make En passant optional?
I know it seems crazy, but I'm sure that it deserves some discussions.
