En passant should be more widely accepted. People are being bad sports and that is their fault.

Or go the other way and ban pawn double push.

Being upset at en passant or the double pawn move is just as silly as being upset that knights or bishops move the way they do. They're both well established rules of the game, and they have been for hundreds of years. People are quick to complain when they're losing, but if those moves benefited them in a certain situation they would be more than happy to play them.

Many games would be lost without en passant in a unfair way via promotion and it just seems to make sense that the 2 move pawn option cannot be abused when a pawn is next to it and it would capture otherwise. I might even argue that it should be used for higher value pieces but a large portion of chess beginners and even better chess players would disagree or even say en passant is a “fake” chess move. Luckily I’m not dumb enough to argue that this is also true for the 2 move pawn option. En passant is an interesting part of chess and it definitely should be taken as a regular chess term.

It is fully accepted by everyone who matters.
