End Game?

I in my personally opinion have not mastered beginnings nor mastered the middle game but that is all it seems i practice at chess club practice at school and at home in my spare time and i am far above average in these areas but i will be the first to tell you that i am just horrible at anything having to do with an endgame, My own chess coach has told me that if it ever comes down to a pawn king, or pawn king rook endgame to just instantly ask for a draw because right now i am playing on 2nd board and I'm strong in the beginning and middle but the end i just loose all the time i was just wondering, one, if anyone else has this problem and, two, how can i fix this can anyone tell me if there are any tactic puzzles specifically made for end game?

You can use a computerprogram like fritz. Set up the board like an end game situation and play against the computer.

I am involved in a game right now where we both have a couple of pawns.  My opponant has a rook and a knight.  I have two rooks.  It is certainly not easy as I had hoped to bring this game to an end.

There are all sorts of books, puzzles, columns, etc on the endgame.  Find them, study them as you do the rest of the game.  When going over games pay attention to the end, perhaps enter it into a chess engine and see why someone resigned or a draw was agreed.

I would recommend buying this http://www.chesscentral.com/chess-software-p/811515.htm if you don't want to read any books on endgames.

Not to be a mouthpiece for the site, but if this is important to you consider getting a diamond membership so you can use Chess Mentor.  It has a lot of well written end game stuff that starts very basic and works up.  It has helped me quite a bit.

Also computer workout has some great stuff in it.  I'm not sure what the membership requirements are for that.  Sometimes you can struggle using it, though, if you don't know the principles behind it.
