Well, I did find an alternate, but I don't like it quite as much because it doesn't show me the result of all the legal moves

Anyone know what happened to www.k4it.de?
It had a great endgame tablebase that I've come to rely on when doing chess endgame study. Anyone know if there is an alternate online?
He might have accidently let his domain registration expire. I guess we'll know within a few days.
I think this is the guy that created Freezer, which is sold on the Shredder Chess web site. It looks like the EGTB service on Shredderchess was linked to K4IT, because the Shredderchess EGTB service is also down. Maybe Stefan Meyer-Kahlen knows something about this?

I usually use http://www.shredderchess.com/
Look for a link to endgame database at the bottom of the left hand column.

That's what I use for endgames with no more than 6 pieces. It's an excellent database.
It seems the chessx database program online tablebase utility was linked to http://www.k4it.de/ since it has stopped working since yesterday.
The shredderchess site online tablebase server does not work anymore, as well.

You're right. What a pain. I wonder if all the tablebase sites are linking back to the same place which may be having problems.
More importantly, the Shredder 12 GUI that I bought also apparently accesses the k4it.de EGTBs. (When I create a <=6 piece position and click on "Online", I get a "Server Down" message in the Shredder GUI.) So I have to believe that SMK will fix this at some point, or at least ask Eiko what's going on.
