Etiquette: I'm in perpetual check and way up on time. Do I accept a draw offer?

I just played a game in which I was up the exchange and up on time. My opponent got me into a perpetual check in which I could decline threefold repetition. When they had about 15 seconds left and I had about 90 seconds, they offered a draw. I declined, played them out, and took the win on time.

Was this the appropriate thing to do? Would it have been proper etiquette to accept the draw?

I think there's nothing wrong in this. But I have to admit that these kind of incidents make me feel guilty sometimes!

Once the opponent has asked for a draw, the game will draw automatically if a threefold repetition occurs. It is his job to create this threefold repetition on time.

Nope... opponent is doing wrong. Don't accept draw offer.

Was it necessary - no - perpetual check isn't even part of the rules.

Was drawing the sportsman like thing to do? Sure.

Would it be sporting to complain about it? No.

Are the last two subjective, and open to different opinions? Of course.

Yes sit there for 4 or 5 hours and just let him keep checking you and get your point.

Unless you have better things to do of course. Most always accept a draw even if you think you may win in the long run- if you are certain then no, but a half is better than zero-always

It's about a blitz game... so I can't wait 4 to 5 hours... and opponent is low on time.
