In a daily game, it okay to ask an opponent to resign rather than just let a match end via timeout?

Why would you ask an opponent to resign? Never do that. I'd always offer a draw and then resign myself, but asking them to resign is kinda rude

If they're inactive then just let them time out, it's an equally effortless win
Why do so many people abandon games rather than resign....it's infuriating and sad....

I am with #1 and #5 here. Stalling is against the rules. If people were allowed to time out their games there wouldn’t be a rule against it.
