Wow, you guys are just so cool.  I wish I could be just like you.  Then again, maybe you want to learn how to read?  I have Face Book, and I have a real life, filled with real friends.  How did we get onto this tangent?  Your ADD perhaps?  What I said was that ignoring greetings is rude.  From this you infer something about some longing I have to make friends here?!?  Nice imagination.

You introduced the tangent, then insulted everyone who disagreed with you, which is everyone who responded to you.  How old are you?  You act like a five year old.

people get facebook b/c they either are of "celebrity" type status or they cant get enough friends in real life so they get "friends" online.  That is just a life in front of your silicon buddy :)

Thank you, Beelzebub666, for pointing out Vance917's rudeness.  It's people like him that give Americans a bad name.

Wow.  Devil's advocate, or just plain dumb?  There is nothing subtle about it, on either side of the Big Pond.  You must just like hearing yourself talk.

You think ( in your original post ) that's it's rude not to reply to your trophy, friend's invitation and rematch.  When answered that it's a fine details of etiquette, you insult people. This is rude, not the stuff above.

There is no obligation to play a rematch.  If you don't like losing, don't play chess.  There's no honor code in chess that you have to play a rematch if you win.

online chess - i rarely ask for a rematch.

live chess - i sometimes ask for a rematch.

i never decline the first rematch request from my opponent. i may decline the third or more however. it depends.
