Eureka: blitz vs rapid!

FM Ellipsoul explains in another thread how you could hoover over your next move in blitz, almost premoving. Speed is essential. I have been practicing this a bit today.

At the end of the day I played three 30 min games with stupid mistakes. And it suddenly struck me: my techniek should be different!

I play on my phone.

In blitz my thumb should be on the piece I expect to move or even above the field i am gonna place my piece.

In rapid my thumb should be anywhere but not in the neighborhood of my screen...
