How do strong players come up with evaluations like += vs +/- (small advantage vs clear advantage)? How do they know the difference (e.g. what exactly distiguishes a += from +/-)? Obviously computers nail it down to a number, but with people its fuzzy.
And I wonder how well titled players are able to come up with these evaluations during a game, before they know the game's outcome, and without the help of a machine. And how much of the evaluation is just knowledge of past games (and the corresponding game result) vs. Silman-style on the fly evaluation of positional features.
