MonsterTactics

Yes quite a few actually.  I actually beat IM Richard Wang when he was still in the low 2300's.

blueemu

I beat a player who later reached 2450 FIDE... although he was only 11 years old when I played him.

My big moment in the sun was a clock-exhibition game with Mikhail Tal in 1988, when he was ranked 4th in the world and had just won the World Blitz Championship a day or two before. We drew the game. He was just lucky.

In an over the board uscf game I beat someone who has beaten the world champ [and the person I beat was more than 2222+ elo]

Wow wow..champs...wonderful

Phelon

I beat a former IM in a casual game ;). It was OTB, ive beaten him maybe 3 times

Angom_Nongsha_Singh

Oh what was his name?

9thEagle

How can someone be a "former" IM? Isn't the title for life?

Angom_Nongsha_Singh

Yeah but guess he meant retired IM, the one who is not active. Lolz!!.

Fear_ItseIf

I beat a CM OTB, which is 2200 right?
It was a very nice game actually, I sacced a knight and won in about 16 moves.

My only other titled scalps have been online, all blitz though, so not really significant.

EternalChess

I beat a 2221 elo rated guy, but your talking about 2222+ so it doesn't count :(

waffllemaster

I'm with SerbianChessStar.  I beat a 2220, a 2221, and a 2222, but never a 2222+  Cry

Magnet-21

I beat a 2300 elo rated player. I beat him up. Sealed

blueemu, that's nothing. I actually won a game against Paul Morphy, and just edged a game against Greco.

Angom_Nongsha_Singh

I won a match against Howard staunton when he was under rated.

GM Bisguier however most of my chess experience has been with correspondence play,,have not played a rated USCF game for 39 years as I prefer correspondence or I should say I did prefer correspondence as it has changed so much now with chess engines.

[for those interested see my current newspaper ad  I think it is in oldtimers column]

2222 be or not 2222 be : that is the question.

OK. Not original I know. In one of the THree Investigator series books one plot has a parrot who's trained to say 222 be as an address.

konhidras

Yup, ive beaten a 2340 although its a simul. But the best part was when i beat an upcoming national champion rated 2150 in a 5 min bltz.Dang..things like that dont go away.
