Extremely Low Rating

I had recently joined a tournament, but I found out that I would not be able to use a computer for a long time. So, to save everyone some time, I withdrew from the tournament. Unfortunately, I had to resign all my games. My rating is now 7**. Will it be difficult to get back to 1200?

What is RD and why do you use this far from obvious abbreviation in your answer to a what I assume to be a beginner?

RD is Rating Deviation. A high RD allows big swings in ratings.

A new player on the site starts at 350.

Since Data_Pillar's is 157 there can be a reasonably quick rating correction.

Current: 784
Today's Rank: #81301 of 82,908
Percentile: 1.9%
Glicko RD: 157
Highest: 1200 (13 Dec 2009)
Lowest: 784 (23 Dec 2009)
Avg. Opp.: 1509
Best Win: N/A
Worst Loss: 1509 (mcfischer)

See here for a more detailed explanation.

If the choice is to withdraw from a tournament or to time out, choose to withdraw/resign. It is much easier to recover a rating than to lower a timeout ratio.

Thanks. I had no clue. Hopefully I wont have to withdraw from any more tournaments.

agreed ... also, it's much more polite than making everyone else wait for your games to time out so the tourney can be completed! :)
