How about that NN guy? Didn't he always have a thing for grabbing pawns? He is famous for a different reason than winning though, I am afraid :-P

Korchnoi had a reputation for being a fearless pawn grabber.

We know that rich I think the opener refers to grabbing "hot" pawns, where the opponent gets compensation. Some players are know for their willingness to embark a long difficult defense for material compensation.
Hey I was wondering does anyone know of any famous masters who were know for being successfully greedy with pawns or material ? so far from chessmasters 1oth edition point of view I can only think of GM Larry Evans.
