What is your favorite opening? I like as black the Sicilian, and as white the Italian game
Stock_Fish109
Playing against the English is sort of painful. And i don't like it, but pretty much any Sicilian line I'm good with.

Do you like them, or play them, or both by the way?

white: kings gambit black: sicilian defence

IM bacon, I'm not talking about level. Simply just my opinion.

Depending on mood. Though I'm more likely to pick Scotch Gambit over other openings as White as I like the dynamics (I also sometimes play 1.Nf3 and 2.b3). Pirc Defense against 1.e4 and Albin Gambit against 1.d4, though I've been trying to learn Nimzo-Indian/Queen's Indian as Albin is more of a gimmick opening that won't hold up forever. 1...Nf6 with similar setups against anything else.

Kings Indian Def.

Beautiful, brilliant.

I play the slav against the queen's gambit, though the King's Indian, I agree, is a wonderful defense

Yes Talclone101?

with white, I guess it would be the Italian game since I play that the most.

As black, I have a bit more of a preference. I can't decide on whether I like QGD or the Petrov the best... but one of those 2 is my favorite.

A runner up would be the French (Classical if possible), but since I haven't played it OTB yet, It remains as my third favorite happy.png

Im just a USCF B player.  It doesn't matter what opening i play at that level.  I wish i was good enough that openings decided my games, but im not, and they dont.

Are you the one who switched from the Torre Attack to the English? From the Scandinavian to the Sicilian?

The same for every opening?

As white variations of the Reti, mostly the Reti gambit. As black St. George Defense against e4, or the Alekhine. And against d5 the nimzo.
