As for the classics my favourite is Paul Keres. Not only in terms of chess but generally as a person. As for today, I like Alexander Grishchuk. Very talented and has a sharp wit.

I like Alexander Gelman.He is not a world champion or even a grandmaster.But all the other commentators are no match for him.
By no short measure the finest individual ever to grace the tournament room is Vishy Anand. I saw him playing in London and during rounds he mixed with all levels of players from beginners to masters. He is truly a great person who could easily deal with fame, unlike many other professionals in all sorts of sports who become 'divas' when they haven't even achieved a tenth of Vishy' success.
