Lemme troll ya. My favorite chess players of all time in terms of sportsmanship and being a role model for other players are Max Euwe and J.R. Capablanca. My favorite players in terms of playing style are Paul Morphy and Mikhail Tal. My canditates for the title of "the strongest player of all time" are Kasparov, Fischer, Capablanca and Alekhine. My votes for "the most tenacious player of all time" go to Lasker, Botvinnik, Karpov and Korchnoi, for their longevity.

Morphy and Anderssen for me because I still try to incorporate the romantic style of chess even though it may be totally different from the norm on how to win at the class level tournaments these days. For the modern style GMs, it is Dzindzihashvili and Yusupov - both when they were at their prime in the 80s.
