A FIDE rating is a rating you earn for playing in actual over the board tournaments. An elo is the calculation method that is used to determine the FIDE rating. But sometimes people just refer to a rating as an elo. As for your rating level, it is quite low, as is mine, compared to good players. Expert level is 2000, master level is 2200. World champ Magnus Carlsen is over 2800.

Hey i posted about this earlier but didnt get a good answer for what i wanted to know. So i was wondering, how does an elo rating compare to an FIDE, and what is an FIDE rating. Also can i obtain a FIDE rating if im just an online Player? Im rated 1130, is that average or what for elo?
