I don't think so, but it's only what I think.
Those tournaments involves lot of players, some of them are not super-GM.
And because of the knock-out, short matches + blitz format, the winner is often the one who play best rapid chess (with the very significant luck element), and not the best at classical time-control.
Technically speaking, did the FIDE Knockout World Championships of '96, '98, '99, '00, '02, and '04 count as super tournaments? Or are super tournaments relegated to being double round robin affairs?
