You have to show an extensive amount of ID to be a member, which I am ineligible and too lazy to do, so I don't really know.
The demo version is nice though, so the real one should be even better.

I joined about 6 months ago and paid the enrolling fee. However, I could not get a FIDE rated game and so stopped using it.

Yeah I didn't sign up because they asked for my drivers license or passport info, which I really don't want to give out online.
i got an account
Does it give you an accurate rating? I'm still a little skeptical of their anti - cheating mechanism's efficacy, and I don't want to pay for a "real" rating if the rating ends up being wildly inaccurate due to cheaters.

You have to submit a scanned ID card to be able to have an official rating. Only games against verified members are used to calculate your official rating. You play with your real identity, so you can cheat only once and you are out.
The problem is not cheating. The problem is the stupid policy they carry against unpaid members. Their rating is resetted once every week to 1200. This drives down liquidity so it is difficult to get games.
The idea is good, the implementation is just horrible, kills the whole thing.
I have an official rating there, but that was it for me. Next year I will not prolong my premium membership.
Has anyone here tried this before? Apparently you can get a "real" online FIDE rating on this site.
