"Performance rating: 1403"

As an unrated player I believe this will be your new, current FIDE rating which seems to coincide with your current online rating.

Can confirm. That will be your rating. Performance against 5 rated players or more counts as your initial rating, which may be ridiculous in some cases, but ok.

Yes your rating will be 1403 if this is your first tournament.Becouse you played 9 games rated.Of course this can be change if you have played some rated games before this tournament....

Your rating will be 1380 according to the fide rating calculator

Okay, here's the way to calculate your initial rating.

Add up the ratings of all your rated opponents and divide the result by the number of opponents. This will be the average rating of all your rated opponents.

In your case: (12244)/9 = 1360.4444

This should be rounded off to the lower number if the decimal is less than 0.5 or the higher number otherwise.

So, we get 1360.

Now, calculate the number of points required for a 50% score. In this case since there were 9 rated opponents, 4.5 points would get you to 50%

The next step is to find the deviation of your score from this 50% score:

Your score - Score required for 50%

For you: 5 - 4.5 = 0.5

In your case, you scored 5 points so you have a +0.5 score.

Finally, take the average rating of all your rated opponents and add 20 points for every half point scored over 50% (40 points for every point scored above 50%)

That would be 1360 + 20 = 1380.

This is your initial rating.

Thanks @Nightshadow it is really helpful.

A straight up calculation might get him a 1380 but it does not take into account k-factors and is in deliberate contrast to the performance rating he had in the tournament. Therefore, his rating will be 1403--the performance rating he had in the tournament as he has played no other rated games prior.

I remember the time when you didn't get a FIDE rating until you got to 2200!?

Don't worry about your rating at this level......just play for enjoyment.

I believe a player's K-factor is only in effect once the initial rating has been established and is just used to influence rating change. Until then I'm not sure It plays any role and this formula should give you the correct initial rating.

On a side note, FIDE has a calculator on their website to which you can feed your values and it'll spit out your initial rating.
