This is the game in which I finally became a 1000 rated Blitz player. (I played with the white pieces)
Over the course of about three years, I have become a 1000 rated player.
You might say, "Oh, ProtegeVsMaster must be very slow at learning chess and must still be bad at it."
That game that is posted above shows me at 86 percent accuracy vs the 60 percent of my opponent.
So then, how did it take me three years to get to 1000. One good reason is that I was inactive for most of a year. Then, how did it take two years to be a 1000. Another reason is that I started from around 500. I sucked at chess. I freely admit it. I did. I barely knew what each of the pieces did let alone what opening theory was. I have been self-trained for three years of playing chess. And, in a matter of a few months, I shot from 500 to 1000. Granted, this pandemic probably helped since now I have time to play chess for hours on end, but it took time still.
My next goal is to be a 1300 by the end of this year. I think I can achieve it if I try.
I hope that this inspires people to keep trying to play chess and they'll eventually get better. (Though, I doubt that this post will do that.)
Anyway,
I'll try not to post daily now that I figured out how the forums work.
People getting happy after reaching 1000 elo is reassuring to me, as I feel that I am awful at chess after misplaying a couple of games, even though I shot up 700 elo in the past three months.
Good luck in your future endeavors, chess related or otherwise.
Congrats!! I know the struggle. I started at 800, got to about 840 then steadily declined to around 670 and this past couple weeks I went from 670 to about 760. I just wanna hit 800 again! Lol. That's my goal for now at least, eventually I'll wanna hit 900, then 1000 and so on.
