you could play against a chess engine!

if you're not as good as the engine, you could use the settings in your gui
to make it weaker(google these terms if you don't know what i mean)

Survey your Chess Club or Cafe your looking for a practice partner who has alot of guts and fighting spirit plays aggressively and has a solid all around game doesn't make excuses or cry like a big baby when he or she loses.
Watch him or her play you'll know on gut instinct you've found what your looking for.
