Finding the right opponent

Hi,

although I play a fair amount of online chess games and that it helped me a lot in improving my skills, I still feel that I don't play enough real live chess (in front of a real board, against a real opponent).

Real live chess seems to have a completely different quality than online and I think I am missing an important aspect of chess. I would like to play more live chess.

Chess clubs and chess cafés are too intimidating (players are too strong) for my needs.

How do you tackle that problem? How do you find opponents for your chess games?

Cheers,

Carlos.

Carlos : chess clubs are not intimidating players and players are not too strong.

Just find a chess club in your neighbourhood and start playing.  You just win or loose, but your enthousiasm and your level will rise, I am sure.

Quality is high, ( otherwise the club will not exist any longer,) over the board games will give you satisfaction  ( I may say so after over 65 years in various clubs ).

I now play Blitz (5/2) on chess.com, instead of club chess, and I like it.
