first live game, somehow resigned?

So I'm playing the 30 min game, and I'm up a knight, and suddenly I've resigned? Is there a time limit per move I don't know about? Super pissed because I was up...now this affects my rating.
I see three thirty minute games today. You won the first after your opponent resigned. You got mated in the second. It says you resigned the third after you dropped your queen, which looks like the right decision. (Didn't realize that you lost your queen?)
Try to forget about your rating while you are learning the game.
