NP, I think it's doable in ~24 hours of bullet.

I still have no clue what the criteria are. Why have all those who accomplished the fear in the last 22 months failed? What did they do wrong?

Well, in the last 22 months only 3 people successfully registered, and they are listed in the first comment of this thread. The first comment also states clearly how to successfully register, but so far those are the only 3 people who have done it.

You've aready posted a screenshot of your record, but I just wanted to confirm that you do indeed intend to register (which is my impression, but you haven't stated that). So if you do want to register, I'll add your name to the list.

Reflex about life, be kind and give me your rating points, here is a nice poem (at least a part of it) for you, may peace, compassion and a vegan diet be with you.

Y cuando llegue el día del último vïaje,
y esté al partir la nave que nunca ha de tornar,
me encontraréis a bordo ligero de equipaje,
casi desnudo, como los hijos de la mar.

Yes, I will cry if this thread gets deleted, so please don't make that happen!

On a good day against a weak opponent, I can play 45-50 games in an hour.  I couldn't keep that pace up for long, but if I were extremely motivated I could definitely win 1000 games in three days. I know this because I once played 1000 games in less than two days on another site. I only won ~560 against another expert tho.

Go ahead and register me. I'll play some games later today. I want to see about how many games I can play in an hour. Does anyone know if the bot moves instantly in bullet?

ae they fun trophies or game ones?

Avatar of macer75

@ SmyslovFan: Registered! Good luck!

@ chessmaster: Fun trophies. I can't send you game trophies unless I've played a game with you.

Update:

I've had three sessions against the easy computer.

The first was really hard. I found that the computer isn't as simple to beat as I had thought. I played more than 100 games at 1 0 time control in about 2.5 hours, but only won about 65 games. I kept losing on time, and then in my bid to play faster, I started making mouse slips and missing basic tactics. Also, it loves pushing pawns. This is usually a fatal mistake, but occasionally it will sac material to promote. I found it very difficult to calculate these endgames with no time left on the clock.

I also found that three hours straight isn't the best strategy against a silicon opponent. I made far more errors and slowed down dramatically towards the end of the session.

I played the next two sessions at 1 2 (2 second increment) time control. I won about 50 games and lost two. I was never in time trouble and didn't concede any draws. The real cost was the amount of time those games took. I spent about 2 minutes 20 seconds per game on those. At that rate, it will take quite a bit longer for me to complete the task, about 40 hours (38.33 hours to be more precise, presuming I win 100% of the games, which won't happen).

This is due to my poor senior brain being too slow. A younger player should still be able to play 1 0 against the computer and win 1000 faster than I will be able to.

I've already learned a fair bit. One thing I've noticed is that the engine probably rates minor pieces as being worth ~2 pawns and rooks at about 2.5 pawns. I also noticed that about one out of every twenty games, it seems to calculate far better than in the previous games. It's almost designed not to lose too many games in a row.

I'm hoping that my next update will be in a week or two, when I've completed the task.

I don't think most players of any age would be able to win consistently under 1/0 time controls against Comp1-EASY. Longer time controls, even slightly longer ones, should be much more manageable, as you have noted.

Also, in my experience, the computer doesn't necessarily value certain pieces at a value of x pawns. There are some situations where it will always exchange its queen for a bishop, or a rook for a single pawn, and other situations when it will never do so. And yes, the computer loves to push its pawns (and is also very good at protecting its pawns). Every once in a while I have a game where I obtain a significant advantage in material and start to relax, only to realize when it's already too late that the computer will be able to promote a pawn in a few moves.

I don't know about everyone else, but I can do it because I'm on a computer. I don't know how you would do it on a phone, but I think it should be possible.

Exactly the same way if you have photos saved, or can copy the url of it.

btw, I'm at ~500 wins. I'm winning about 25 games an hour. I discovered that even though I could play much faster at 1 0, I couldn't win as easily as I thought. My first 100 games were something like 60-40 for me. With an increment though, I win about 95% of the games. It just takes longer.

I had to slow down to ~25 games per hour, but at that pace I lost about one every 25 games or so.

WOW... congratulations! I did not expect anyone to do it this quickly! In fact, full disclosure - I did not expect anyone to do it, period. I thought this was just something that people would laugh at, and that some people would sign up, but nobody would come close to winning 1,000 games.

So, now that you did it, how many trophies do you want?

I thought the same thing when I clicked on this thread.
