I really love this fact as well, and was pleased to report it to others.
I did find this though...

But I still prefer to see it as 64... heh, call it willful ignorance for romanticisms sake.

Does that mean if I become a famous go player I'll die at the age of 361? Do you know anywhere where I can learn go?
EDIT: According to that article and a calculater, I might even live up to 2470 if I start playing go!
I see the connection your making, but actually there are about 88: 64, 16, 4, 4 if I counted right, these smaller squares make larger ones totaling 88- I think.
If you think that's weird....
Fischer won the world championship at age 32 or 12030 days old. Exacly 12030 days later, at age 64, he died!
There are 64 squares I beleive. Who cares? Anyone with a strong enought chess engine can beat fischer! Hook Rybka to the EES (Enviornmental Earth Simulator) and you're good. Chessmaster could beat kasparov on a regular desk top. Anyway I'm just joking great guy.
You know what's even weirder? There are 64 squares on a chessboard, and the Beatles made a song called "When I'm 64". Spoooooky, I know. I have chills.
Hehe. Sorry for that. Almost done work, getting silly.
Bobby Fisher died at 64 years of age. There is 64 squares on the chess board.
