FIVE MINUTE WAITING - STOP IT!

I'm so irritated by the five minute rating rule if you happen to violate the fair play policy which i obviously do everytime that i log in and try to play a game. Because of my slow computer and slow connection the game is sometimes already aborted when i finally have loaded the playing screen. This results in me having to wait for five minutes and then i'm not even sure if it will work on the second try. Sometimes it does, but then my opponent will sometimes abort the game because he is lower rated and then i will have to wait five minutes again. I have tried to get a game on for the last 40 minutes and no luck yet! You need to do something about the rule so that it will not affect honest people that happens to be caught in the fire. I'm seriously thinking about leaving chess.com for good.

I'm sorry, but that comment was very ignorant according to me. The system obviously doesn't work as intended since people that doesn't violate the fair play policy on purpose is punished. You could even argue that it hurts the chess.com business since people as me that strongly thought about upgrading my account now will not. This matter should be adressed as a flaw in chess.com solidarity and fair play policy because i certainly do not believe that is fair that innocent people get punished for something that they have very little influence on.

I'm sure that an upgrade of my computer would help. Definitely, but as a student i just don't have that kind of money. It's no secret that my computer is slow and i know for fact that re-installing the software will not help.

Well, there certainly are ways to improve it. I don't think that it is fair that people  like me have to wait for five minutes if the opponent disconnects. Not if we want to play fair. It really discourages playing. This has nothing to do with bad connection or not. People that disconnects on purpose suck, but people that have disconnected a lot, but now wants to play fair shouldn't be punished for more than they have done. If you disconnect wait five minutes, but if your opponent disconnects you don't have to wait. That shouldn't be so hard to do so.

don't disconnect when you loose a game (As you did several minutes ago in a game against me). Be man, Press resign!
