Just tired of the hassles. Chess should be fun, not annoying.

I love the 14-day limit.  Many times we play a lot faster, but then jobs, school, etc take priority.  It is fun to see the email message that it is my move.  This is my favorite social media site.

2321 days since the previous post...Definitely a fan of the long time controls.

This is the top Google result for 14 day daily chess.com. Just want to say if you're playing 14 day limit per move, you are probably playing with a friend who probably wouldn't take advantage. And it's not unusual for a chess game to go on for years, that's how people actually used to play correspondence chess before the internet!

Think of the Frasier episode where someone looks at his chess board and notices a winning strategy, and Frasier remarks that he just wasted years of time on the game not realising he was losing.

I like to have plenty of time and never to make a mistake because of time. I started a one day game and before I finished it I was playing ten games at once. I thought it would be easy, like playing ten puzzles a day but I got obsessed. I studied candidate moves and it took over my whole life. I never did anything else and I won all the games but it’s not for me. This was only one day per move. Having so much time and so much info is exhausting. I don’t think I would ever want to play more than 1 move per day but I don’t have to. Freedom of choice. Also trusting the opponent not to get advice from any illegal sources? I study the opening that my opponent plays but it’s hard to do without using any kind of engine.
