It's 2020 and chess.com is still having this problem. Unbelievable! I have really fast internet and can watch Youtube videos no problem, but my chess games keep getting cut by connection issues.

There are more moving parts than your local connection and the chess.com connections. There are numerous pieces of equipment that the traffic has to go through to reach the chess.com servers and any one of them can cause issues. Right now, with the increased load on the site and the internet in general, that possibility has only increased.

Just because you can reach some other site, which is hosted in an entirely different location and only shares a very small part of the path, doesn't mean that the problem is on the chess.com end. The site has been working on things due to the increased load, but there are things that can be done on your end to may make things better.

Is there a better platform/website than chess.com?  I can't possibly continue to use them.  My wifi connection is perfect but no matter what I do, my connection on chess.com is miserable.

I have persistent connection problem in this site and I cannot stand it anymore. My laptop is near of modem and it has stable connection. I can play chess on any platform/website except chess.com. I cannot play bullet nor blitz, when on the rapid game I lose my connection almost at every move and I really confuse because of that. Please help and fix it. This is an urgent problem

My internet is great with extremely low lag with fiber optic to the house connection. I get the information from experience on other sites and a few of the well known internet speed tests.  Now I know I'm not a great player, but when I was around 1200 only a week ago and now I'm barely 900 because nearly every game I've played I lose because of connection issues, what does that say? Oh, and no, not my computer because I've tried laptop and phone, too. Played for several days on [another site -- VP] and absolutely no problems there.  Goodbye, Chess.com.  Until you get your poo together, I'm one very unsatisfied customer.

I agree 100%. It is not your connection, it is chess.com that does not handle connection issues well. It is so frustrating, just yet I played against a high rated player and I seemed to be winning. His clock goes down, he seemingly does not do a move anymore. Chess.com states that he will auto-resign in so many seconds .... .it goes down to zero but nothing happened. Then his clock goes down to zero, nothing happened. I reload, and what appears: my opponent DID do a move, but I never got it. Come on, this is not right. Chess.com has so many good features but the basics is to handle connection issues right. First get the basics right , then work on fancy features.

As these issues only seem to occur in winning positions, and often, and for years, it is no longer worth paying your developers. It occurs no matter the device, connection, or setting. Highly reminiscent of the ping exploits on yahoo chess that brought good players to this site in the beginning. Losing on time even in a winning position is fine, it happens. Losing time constantly however is not, tech is far too advance for this to have continued for years. Thanks for the time, your welcome for the coin. Be well.

According to you, my connection is very high performance.

Even I can win a game, I'd lost much time because this failed in this site. Chess.com fix your servers for rest of the world.

The latest update is that the fix is in QA and they expect to submit a new version to Apple later today. (Apple usually takes a couple of days to approve new app versions.)

Adding insult to injury admins try to convince you the problem is on your side.

You spend your time experimenting with different connection settings and the problem persists.

(When chess.com first tried to establish it's own wiki page, it kept getting deleted as not unique enough or not important enough to deserve its own page. Quite rightly so.)

What else could it be, but your connection?

Thousands of us play every day without any problems.

I have another person in my family that plays and they play with no issue. But, mine says its offline :/
