I'm desperate here. I pay a fee that I'm consistently unable to play on. I'm a loyal mber that's stopped me from playing. Can anyone recommend a site that doent lock out members. And how do I reclaim my subscription. This needs to be passed on to all members. I'd leave this if it was for free.

Registration is free, and I don't see why there should be any elitism from the premium members to the non-premium members. And there are other places than chess.com where you can play chess, as well as books for chess study. It's not elitism. It's me saying that someone who plays for free shouldn't be telling me to chill about being frustrated with the service. Completely reasonable.

Lichess.org is free and has servers that work

My entire point with this thread is that paying customers are not getting what they pay for. It shouldn't create an argument amongst users.

This all started as soon as chess.com gobbled up all the Play Magnus brand sites. They spread themselves too thin and are now scrambling.

How do you think the price of an advert is negociated? It's the number of users that sets the ground for the price of the adverts.
Other factors are also taken into account, like how much time one spends on the site once connected: long time equals more value.
Possibly, free users bring, by the use of their time, more money to chess.com than pay members.
Hey, that's all great but they will lose my subscriber $ if this keeps up. Whether that matters at all in the grand scheme of things is another issue entirely. Not really my concern.
Guys, calm down. Think about the other things you waste money on. Hulu subscriptions or Netflix. Chess.com is kind of wacky, but just take a break from it. I bet some of you would still lose that game even if the servers didn’t crash. Jk all this I just said is useless. If some of you are angry go sue chess.com and get your elo back.

This is not meant as a paying vs. non-paying membership discussion. As a paying member, when you're not getting the services that are part of that membership, then it is completely reasonable to be pissed off with chess.com
Just make the premium cost less
