There´s also the SGM - Grandmasters that reached 2700+, though not an official title...

What is an RM, LM, and SM?

LM = life master  (as in you've maintained a master rating for a long period)
SM = senior master  (as in better, not older heh)

I've actually never heard of RM that I'm aware of... interesting.

RM=Ruy Lopez Master :-)

I'm still waiting for the day they decide to create a NE (national expert) title. Maybe soon (doubt it)

And I believe there are 2 different CM titles-USCf awarded with 2000 rating and 5 norms, and FIDE rated with 2200 rating and no norms.

No. You don´t get any title by playing here.

Those players that have the CM next to his name, are FIDE CMs that have verified their identities with chess.com.

First of all thank you for response.

Will I be able to verify my identities with chess.com in future. For example if I achieve such results and then make all needful procedures, will it be available?

Ive been playing chess for about 35 years but never competitively. Unless I am mistaken, why is it that women and men are seperate in tournaments? I get it in baseball, football, wrestling, etc. But why in chess? doesnt make much sense to me.

Are there separate tournaments? At least here tournament are open both except few specially for women.

In over the board tournaments there are women only tournaments and women only titles. In ICCF Correspondence Tournaments there are also Ladies only competitions.

Thanks for the information.

One question: If qualifying for a CM requires a Fide rating upwards of 2000 or 2200, as is stated here, then how come so many 1700+ players bear that title?

Thanks.
