FM title

Let's see... a loss vs. a 1580, another vs. a 1650, another vs. a 1770, a win vs. a 1560... a draw vs. a 1596 (very nice Ukranian girl)... hey, a draw against a 1850! He should be riding a hangover. I'm sure there was another win, but I just can't find the scoresheet!

Maybe I'm being too optimistic?  Laughing

Does your tournament not have a website with the results Pulp? :D

Till_98

thanks Martin!

The application for the title must be made by your Chess Federation/ FIDE member. The only requirement for FM title is FIDE rating equal or higher than 2300.

It's up to your Federation to pay for your title, or not. Personally I did not pay a penny for the FM/ IM titles.

It is the Madrilenian Teams League. I've participated for three seasons, but individual results are only available in their web for the current one. I can wait, though!

Till_98

okay thank you sir Pfren. nice that you dont need norms for the FM title ^^ IM will be much much harder.

You already played 3 seasons? Still no fide rating yet? How many games do you need in total?

Pulpofeira

I think you need at least 5 nowadays, it used to be 9. I've only reached that number this season. There are 13 rounds, but I must have played only about 15 games in 3 years, and in my category most players are unrated. :)

Till_98

Ah okay :). 1400 would be really strong for a first fide rating ^^

AIM-AceMove

I am not sure but you have to score a draw or a win vs fide rated and then 4-5 more games no matter score vs fide rated.. If your first games were only loses, you might need second tournament to reach that number of gamesfor rating, but not sure.

Martin_Stahl

You have to score at least 1/2 a point in at least 5 games against FIDE rated opponents in a Swiss event. Round Robins are a little different. See sections 6 and 7 from below.

Do chess.com give free diamond membership to these on-line titles, like they do to OTB titles?

No, only for OTB titles.

IpswichMatt

Gosh, I wonder why ? Cool

Looks like AdmaovYuri's right!

He said that FIDE titles aren't worth getting. He was clearly talking about the online titles.

OTB titles are something to cherish for life. For a long time, I thought the CM title was a farce, but since chess.com gives free membership to CM players, it's now well worth getting.

Buddy congratulations on your progress. Weren't you like 2000 FIDE a year ago?

I wonder if Yuri has to make an effort to sound so stupid or if it just comes naturally.

Till - I can't answer your question as I am only 2299, but congrats. That's an insane achievement.

Till_98

Hey congratulations cool64chess!! :))
