Four Player Mode Complaint

I've recently become an avid player of Four Player mode, and have thoroughly enjoyed the additional strategic (and even social) layers it brings to chess. In fact, I think I rather prefer it to regular chess and chess960. My PROBLEM, however, is the points system... While I *wholeheartedly* understand that a points system is needed to incentivize players to play more aggressively & dissuade passivity, I have *repeatedly* found myself in the endgame as one of the final two players standing AND with more material and/or better positioning... yet my opponents resign prematurely and win on points by default. This seems unfair. If anything, players should be PUNISHED for resigning and have points deducted from their overall score.

Maybe it's simply a philosophical difference, but I argue that in Four Player Mode, the best player *ought* to be (in most cases, that is) the last man/woman standing. In over 70% of my games (I've kept track, as of late) I find myself as one of the final two players left, and it's honestly frustrating and disheartening to have other players win by default by playing less strategically & absurdly recklessly to acquire as many points as possible before resigning.
