hi, when i am at live chess i see players rated low making blunders, very often.

chess is really interesting... i offer free coaching to make you a 1100+ player.. in this forum..

i was a 600 rated player, but in period of 2 month i am 1150 +.

so after some low rated players gather, i will start courses as your teacher.

oh! yes, you can use the software winboard, as it can spot mistakes and correct it. and is free unlike fritz.

You should be seeking for coaching for yourself instead. At your current level, there is no coaching that you have to offer that would beneficial to anyone.

That's a bit harsh, he could coach a small child on how the pieces move or something along those lines.

Why criticize someone offering to help others? If you don't find value in the offer don't take it. Your not in the position to judge what someone should or shouldn't do with their time cyed.

im 12 myself... and i wanted to help <800 by teaching them how i became 1100+......

Just saying, I think cyed would be much more beneficial to <800 people considering that he has more skill and effort than you do, aareyan...

I think it's good that he's taking the time to help others to be honest id be happy for a player 300 points higher than me to give me advice so why can't say an 1100 player give an 800 player advice it's the same as a 2600 grandmaster helping a master rated 2200 or something fair play to you aareyan

I don't understand why anyone would care to criticize another player for offering free coaching on a forum. It doesn't make sense, why would anyone care what others do with their own time? It's not like you need to alert others of a scam. If I had more time on my hands I'd offer to coach for free because teaching can be the best way to really learn something yourself, having to make sure you really know the material your teaching others. Anyway, have fun coaching OP...

aareyan, it is very good of you to offer to help younger players. cyed was very rude.

@cyed... Hoof hucking asked YOU? And what about YOUR altogether unimpressive rating gives you a blank check to insult someone for daring to offer anything to anyone?

You should be seeking silence for yourself instead. With your current attitude, there is NOTHING that you have to say that would be beneficial to anyone.

PS: get bent.

Cogwheel:

THANK YOU. I'm certainly no Kasparov, but neither is captain haterade over here... Thanks for calling BS out when you saw it. Any chance you want to give me free lessons? Lol! ʕ•ﻌ•ʔ

what a dreadfull thread...when i was 1100 (2 years before) i didn't even know what are the values of the pieces ( i couldn't even think of relative values then) not even basic checkmates.. and certainly today i am in no position to coach anyone (maybe my sister)..LOL at your attitude ''The OP is just offering help, he is doing the right thing''..It's crap and it should be told

Again, why do you care if someone is offering their time for free to others? You don't have to take it him up on the offer. I'd rather people be more like the OP than yourself.

That is bs, I am 950 and am far beyond knowing just the values of pieces or basic checkmates. I think even at 800 players know these basics - I played a few of them.

If you need a coach aareyan I could do it... rated 1760 (no kidding)

Really?  The kid is 12 years old.  Do you have nothing better to do with your time than bashing an ambitious kid?

Why the uncontrollable need to insult someone trying to help others?

Avatar of Aetheldred

cyed is wrong, when I started to teach Chess for beginners at school, I was around 1100 myself, but I was a few lessons ahead of my students. After 5-6 months I was around 1500 FIDE and one of my students came 4th (out of 104) in an important tournament, his first tournament. He's still playing today, and recently came 2nd in a national tournament. I did such a good job I received several presents from some parents and the president of my local federation (2 million people area) told me I had done a great job.

The reason, apart from the fact that I am a teacher, is that the way a beginner teaches another beginner is so simple it's easy to understand.

what does an 800 rating mean?
