Free Coaching session from a Master and experienced coach
I already have a coach that I am working with, but I would love to see the yt videos and twitch streams. what are their names?
Hey, thanks for replying. This is a pet project I have, and still setting it up. I figured that I should start contacting prospective students. I will post it here as soon I start.
Hello, I would love to have a chess coach! I need assistance with being able to view future possible moves, better moves, and the benefits of doing those moves. This may also be a personal thing, but I believe that improving my memory would help me a lot with knowing what moves to play, especially if it's a position I've been in before. I am 17, rapid rating 1300 range, blitz and bullet rating 1000, of course attempting to get higher and better. I would have to make a schedule with your available times because school has already begun for me, and if I am busy during the scheduled time (with homework, for example) then may have to cancel the meeting for that day. I have no problem with the videos or streaming, and look forward to getting more info and possibly starting the class with you!

I haven't started yet the project, I'm gathering students first, so I can't give you times yet; be sure that the slot you choose you are going to be free to use it, because then that time would have been wasted instead of using it with someone interested. Thanks for reaching out!
I am surprised no one does this. Doing 1 to 1 is like watching others eat at a restaurant.
I mean, we can go deep, and you will realize I'm just updating the method that Botvinnik used in his school, and still is used. The tournament idea is ok, but is just an extra step to what really matters and what I want to do, which is the teaching part.
Everyone watches games analysis from another people, due to my expertise I know not only the one who played the game, but another players around the same rating will benefit from another people's mistakes. Many birds, one stone.
But without the tournaments. I am saying people would play in the tournament, it wouldn't be a soapbox for him to talk about his new wife and be a jerk on cam.
I don't think you really are talking about me...
@aLicenseToMate That reminds me of GothamChess's reviews of games, both his subs and masters.
I wouldn't be surprised that has been done. I think is a good idea, it's 90% of a chess coach's job, but televised. No cost.

No, I am not. For anyone reading this and doesn't know, GothamChess is an egotistical nuisance.
Yes, he does go over games, but that is the only correlation to what I was suggesting. I will lay out a possible plan.
There could be 3 tournament sections, under 1000 (beginner), 1000-1500 (intermediate), and 1500-2000 (advanced). It would be a Swiss style tournament. You win, you play a winner. You lose, you play a loser from the previous round. A scheduled time like 9pm-12am EST might be the fairest. This would give everyone on the west coast to the east time to play after a work schedule.
It wouldn't be an arena event, so you aren't trying to get as many wins. You can join anytime in those three hours and play as many games as you want, take as many byes (breaks). It doesn't matter. It's a way for anyone who wants to teach to collect games to go over.
Then, the coach would go over whatever games they want from that 3 hour tournament. Suggestions could be made, by either the players or a spectator. Someone like myself would like to see this happen regularly so I could follow certain regular players and see their progress/patterns.
From there, MARKETING!! So, the coach has games to go over, they can then make youtube videos going over the games, answering any questions, making relevant comments, and then that would be it. No sensationalizing over twitter comments, no reading people's insults, etc...
You just stick to the chess games and development. If videos like this were made, people could sign up to get more of the same at a reasonable cost. Viewers could all participate in the next tournament, give suggestions, ask questions, etc... providing more material for the next set of Youtube video or sets of videos if they are meant to be divided.
This model gives a coach games to go over that are recently played and by potential students who might want to hire them as a chess coach.
I would love to see this happen.

I'm not here to create personality rivalries, except when is purely chess related. I have not time in my life for that, nor a desire to do so.
Also, the tournaments: I can say for sure at least in the immediate future won't be possible, won't happen. There is no need for that, there is need for human coaches to go over your games and tell you exactly what you need to improve, what books to read, what phase of the game you need to pay attention to and learn more about it. It doesn't matter if your game was a 3 hour game OTB or a 15 minutes online, mistakes will reveal your thinking patterns and I will help to being noticed. Somebody has a session with me tomorrow, so in advance to that, they can play 4 or 5 games of 15 minutes each today, and we will go over the games. S/he will learn, people watching will learn, and my real life students will learn as well because the mistakes most amateurs do are universal and can be material to learn from. Why complicate the things to create tournaments and become an arbiter sort of. Just bring me the games you felt you didn't know why you lost, and I can help with that.
You may be a better chess player, but economically you are not thinking two moves ahead.
Tough love! ![]()
Anyways...! Economically all of this is a disaster until (hopefully) it's not. I wasn't thinking on charging, and I'm not going to. So far, I don't need it, and I have different plans. If it works, great, if it's not, oh well.
Hi guys, my name is Carlos Pujol, Fide Master from Cuba (living in New York) and 30 years experience as a coach and player -and I'm preparing to start streaming, and posting coaching sessions in YT.
I'm thinking on preparing a series of recorded coaching sessions, the sessions are going to be FREE but they will be recorded and posted in YouTube. If the players are over 18 years old I might stream them as well, and I will only accept minors if their guardian is present all the time and authorization is given. So if you know players that would like free coaching sessions and are willing to be recorded though zoom and or twitch, I'm your guy
You can message me if you are interested. Please notice that I 'm not starting right away, and I have a full time job as a chess coach, so this would be on the side and maybe I will be having one or two sessions a day after 6pm, New York time. But even if you are not the student of the day, I invite you to join the stream as you can learn a lot from watching your fellow players' mistakes. So... let me know!
EDIT: I should add I can also coach in Spanish.
im from spain,,,, if you send me youre twittch and youtube channel i will follow you
the time zone is to bad for see that on direct....
send me a private message
thanks
It's a scam, he only wants your money later. He appears to be a nice guy but later he will ask you for money.
TELL HIM NO!!
Together, we won't go.
I knew there was something fishy with this guy, too pushy to not be a troll, or some kind of unhingement. I also would appreciate you to stop me harassing me with profanity messages. Check your life, mate.
In any case, if I were to ask for money, which I don't have plans to do it so far, It wouldn't be a scam, it would be putting a price to my services. And NEVER NEVER I will ask for it AFTER or DURING a coaching session -thing that, again, I have no plans to do.

You silence someone by saying, "Oh, this person over there does this." Well, neither of us brought someone else up. And, at the same time, chess.com won't remove it for advertising because it is not 100% certain it is an advertisement.
In the end, I am calling the reference out as both an advertisement and an irrelevant comparison to the suggestion I am making. No, you don't get what I was suggesting when you go to this person's Youtube channel."
I wasn't trying to advertise anything, and I never said he does exactly what you said. It was just a thought that came up at the time about how he analyzes games (in general).
Not trying to cause any problems, just added a random comment. But putting that aside, I'm just here to try to get a chess coach, not create enemies, so I apologize if you were insulted by the comment (not referencing exactly what you were saying), but again, it was a random comment at the post you made because that's what it made me thing of...

I have no idea what the point of your comment is, what side are you on. Are you the same "aLicensetoMate"? Because I wouldn't care what you believe what I'm doing, but I care to be bombarded with private messages filled with profanities. After that, everything you said invalidates itself.
I'm just trying to get some students who wouldn't care to be recorded and posted to youtube, that's all. The payment for my free coaching session(s) would be the authorization of recording and posting it online. If you don't like it, or don't want it, you don't have to reply to this. That's all.
