Free entry for all GM and WGM

The pecking order is GM, IM, WGM, WIM.

IMs have a higher status than WGMs so it seems reasonable to offer free entry to IMs as well.

"Free entry for all GM and WGM."

In practice organizers appear to be okay with encouraging women to participate this way.

It appears one cannot say free entry to IMs who are female.

WGM Natalija Pogonina (rated 2449 today) would enter free but IM Anna Zatonskih (rated 2506 today) would pay for entry.

So why should WGMs go for an IM title? It could be better for them if federations did not apply for it when they earned their three IM norms.

Perhaps the organizers allow IMs who are female to enter free without advertising it?

One more shot at getting a response.

"The Grandmasters who have ratings above 2550 and Women Grandmasters who have ratings above 2350 will be provided accommodation on a twin sharing basis during the tournament."

So do IMs who are female have to negotiate their free accommodation? Would it be simpler not to apply for an IM title?

Almost all female IMs are also eligible for the WGM title so if they have that too they are fine. IM Anna Zatonskih for example also has the (lesser) title of WGM.
