The higher up you go, the harder it gets since you’re now playing stronger players, so it’s not uncommon to have lower accuracy, especially if it’s the first time you’ve reached this level. It’s also not uncommon to lose a lot of these points as well, don’t be discouraged if that happens, getting into a new rating range and actually staying there are two different things. Think of the ups and downs as learning more skills to stay there consistently.
I was having a hard time breaking 2500 in blitz, I switched from E4 back to D4, played simple symmetrical defenses as black, stopped playing with time increments and finally broke through. It’s harder for me to beat higher levels with E4 and aggressive defense, so I kept it simple and it worked. Not having increments also helped immensely, because who can play solid endgames under time pressure that go on forever? Not saying any of this advice applies to you but It’s helpful sometimes to adjust things for stronger players.
Good luck!
Hello everyone, I just hit my peak of 2164 on chesscom rapid and have won 6 of my last 7 games. These games have been more inaccurate with a higher amount of mistakes than usual. My goal is 2200 by the end of this month. I will get there. I am in search of some advice to complete this final push. Advice by good players would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
