Hi! This is 30|0 game I played online. I am playing as black. I played two games against this player. First one I lost pretty badly, but this rematch came to be quite interesting. I think there are lots of things for me to learn from this game (using bishops, pawn structure, closed positions).

above game submitted for a friend who found the technical interface hard to work with. It was hard for me too! I'm going to try to get the best practice posted at the top of this thread.

Welcome to V3!

This was a game with a very difficult, unique endgame. I had a knight and 4 pawns, versus two bishops.

Hi Jesse,

Thanks in part to your show, I’ve seen improved results lately. I just won my first tournament in the US (U2000 section of the 1stAnnual Old Line Open) and had a good time at the Northern Virginia Open in November where I beat a few higher rated players. I gained over 100 rating points just last month. I started October at 1701 and am currently 1860 (USCF). The game I’d like to submit is from the third round of the Northern Virginia Open that I won against a 2133 FIDE rated player. I played the white side. I made several opening errors against the semi-slav but managed to swindle a win by placing my pieces aggressively. My favorite move is 16. Nd5! despite the pretty final combination. I look forward to your tips as always!

Time control: G/90 with 30" increment.

Thanks,

Vishnu

P.S. I’d love to hear about your experience as GM in residence at STL if you get the time to do so on the show tomorrow.
