I play against the french defence with 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.nc3 nf6 4.e5 nfd7 5.nf3
I play 5.nf3 against the winnawer as well
I don't typically try to hold onto the e5 pawn, I usually find a creative way of dropping the e5 pawn sometime after blacks c5 captures my d4 pawn and using the lack of cohesion in blacks pieces to make it worth it. I'm wondering if playing this way is any good.
Is there a name for this opening for white?
does anyone know anything about it?
I played this rapid game OTB against a 19something player and I didn't do too bad, I lost on time troubles. I had a couple min left on the clock. and I cant think very well that fast
