Fritz 11 Opening Tree Sucks!

Supposedly in Fritz 11, you can import your own favorite games into a new opening tree, and create your very own Opening Book that is based on the variations that you are interested in learning.

So I attempted to do this, by importing a database of games.  But strangely, when I make some of the moves in the tree, the Fritz engine switches on instead!  I have tried EVERYTHING to correct this, including tweeking every setting in the OPENING BOOK OPTIONS, but no luck...

I've concluded that Fritz 11 Opening Tree doesnt work, it basically just sucks..

Have you had this problem too?  Any ideas how to solve it?

Sincerely,

turn off the engine. it's super annoying and you have to do it all the time. i'm certain there's a setting to keep it off.

i hate the fritz database. what's the point of a database you can't search?

Well I have Fritz 10, so I can't vouch for this 100% but I think it's the same.  Click the Drop Down Menu "Engine" and select "Switch Off Engine." Alternatively Shift+Ctrl+M does the same thing on my version.

I found this software very hard to jump into after having used Chessmaster 5000 for a long time, but I've learned it.
